At least eight people were killed and numerous others were injured in Russian attacks around Ukraine overnight and into Thursday, according to officials. The eastern Dnipropetrovsk and western Lviv areas reported the highest number of casualties and aftermath. The assaults were the most recent in a string of massive Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities that have become more frequent during the summer and now happen almost every week.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, attacks occurred overnight in Kyiv and the surrounding area, as well as in the regions of Dnipro, Lviv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
