The National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS) has granted Fakeeh Health Institutional Accreditation, solidifying its standing as one of the academic healthcare providers in the UAE and signifying yet another significant turning point in its dedication to postgraduate medical education and the training of future specialists. Fakeeh University Hospital (FUH) received the Institutional Accreditation certificate from Dr. Mohammed Al Houqani, Secretary General of NIHS, who noted that this accreditation shows FUH’s adherence to strict national requirements in postgraduate medical education (PGME).
He added that university hospitals play a significant role in enhancing healthcare by combining clinical treatment, education, research, and ongoing quality improvement. He expressed his joy at seeing a private hospital actively supporting the growth of the healthcare workforce. Fakeeh Health, which includes FUH and its network of Fakeeh Medical Centers, has been accredited as an authorized PGME training facility in the United Arab Emirates. This accomplishment comes after the Medical Internship Program at Fakeeh University Hospital was successfully accredited.
The UAE’s governmental body in charge of overseeing and approving postgraduate medical education and residency training is the governmental Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS). Institutions that get NIHS Institutional Accreditation are acknowledged for fulfilling strict national requirements in clinical learning settings, competency-based medical education, patient safety, faculty development, resident assistance, and educational governance.
