Faculty members at medical universities and colleges, including physicians and other health professionals, will now be able to practise within healthcare facilities, according to an announcement made by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) in collaboration with the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) and Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).
In an attempt to streamline the licensing process and make it more in line with what employers are looking for, this change also gets rid of the requirement that some allied health and nursing graduates complete six months of post-graduation experience before they can get a professional license.
By balancing the needs of academic medical expertise with those of the healthcare sector and of recent graduates in the fields of nursing and allied health, the choices aim to modernize regulatory processes and speed up the hiring process. Keeping care at a high level while maximizing the value of human capital is the goal of the adjustments, according to officials. In addition to these goals, they seek to improve the health sector’s readiness for future difficulties by establishing universal licensing requirements, strengthening the connection between education and clinical practice, and reinforcing governance and compliance.
