In a virtual meeting, US Senator Joni Ernst and UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan talked about strategic cooperation between the US and the UAE as well as their shared commitment to deepening ties in a way that benefits both countries’ peoples. They also talked about the ongoing terrorist strikes by Iran that target citizens and civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates and other nations in the region. Senator Ernst denounced these assaults, pointing out that they violate international law and standards as well as national sovereignty. The UAE ambassador to the US, Yousef Al Otaiba, was present during the meeting. In the midst of an ongoing military escalation, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, talked about security developments in the region and their implications for regional and global peace and security, as well as their impact on international navigation and the global economy.
