We recently had the privilege of interviewing Fathima Remziya, Head of Sales at Wujha Development. With over 12 years of international experience at the executive level in mid-scale, upscale, and luxury hospitality, she even brings expertise in the real estate sector.

Leveraging her expertise at WUJHA Development, Fathima Remziya drives revenue growth, builds and manages high-performing sales teams, and expands broker networks, while ensuring alignment between sales strategy and the company’s development objectives.

We started the interview by asking, “What initially inspired you to pursue a career in real estate development, and how did your early experience in hospitality shape your move into real estate?”

Fathima shared, “My path into real estate development was shaped by a strong foundation in hospitality and an early exposure to the real estate field. At the beginning of my career, I was briefly introduced to real estate; however, at that time, I felt the hospitality sector aligned more closely with my personality and professional strengths, particularly in terms of service excellence and people-centric engagement.

 Hospitality played a significant role in shaping my professional approach. It taught me the importance of understanding client needs, building long-term relationships, and delivering value through attention to detail and trust. These principles later became central to my approach to real estate.

 Years later, I was presented with the opportunity to join Edara Real Estate as Head of Sales and Marketing, which became a defining turning point in my career. This role allowed me to re-enter the real estate sector from a strategic and leadership perspective, applying the relationship-driven mindset I developed in hospitality to a field focused on long-term value creation.

 The transition felt natural, as real estate development, much like hospitality, relies heavily on credibility, strategic selling, and a deep understanding of client expectations. Since then, I have truly enjoyed working in real estate and continue to find the journey both fulfilling and rewarding.”

Interested to learn more about Fathima Remziya’s roles and responsibilities, we asked, “In your current role as Head of Sales at WUJHA Development, what are your key responsibilities and immediate priorities?

She mentioned, “As Head of Sales at WUJHA Development, my key responsibilities include driving revenue growth, building and managing high-performing sales teams, expanding broker networks, and ensuring alignment between sales strategy and the company’s development objectives.

 My immediate priorities are strengthening channel partnerships, improving sales performance visibility through structured reporting, and ensuring that our sales approach is aligned with market demand and customer expectations. A strong focus is also placed on team capability development and process efficiency.”

Embracing the Lessons Throughout the Journey

We then asked, “How has your experience across hospitality and real estate influenced your approach to sales strategy and client relationships?”

My background across hospitality and real estate has strongly shaped a client-centric and relationship-driven approach to sales. Working in multiple hotels and across different countries early in my career exposed me to diverse cultures, customer expectations, and service standards. This experience taught me the importance of adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and delivering consistently high levels of service regardless of market or client profile.

 Hospitality instilled in me the understanding that long-term success is built on trust, consistency, and value creation rather than short-term transactions. It also sharpened my ability to listen, anticipate needs, and respond proactively—skills that are critical in complex, high-value real estate transactions.

 In real estate, I apply these principles by focusing on deeply understanding each client’s objectives, offering transparent and informed advice, and maintaining relationships well beyond the point of sale. From a strategic perspective, I emphasize personalization, service quality, and responsiveness as key differentiators in competitive markets, ensuring that clients experience a level of professionalism and care that mirrors the best practices of the hospitality industry,” Fathima reflected.

Potential Trends of the Industry

To understand the evolution of the industry, we asked Fathima Remziya, “What key trends do you see shaping real estate sales and property development over the next 3–5 years?”

She commented, “Over the next few years, real estate sales and property development will increasingly be shaped by data-driven decision-making, sustainable development, and more experience-led offerings. Buyers today are far more informed and selective, which means sales strategies must evolve to become more consultative, transparent, and focused on long-term value rather than short-term transactions.

 In Oman specifically, Oman Vision 2040 is playing a pivotal role in shaping the sector by encouraging economic diversification, sustainable urban development, and increased private and foreign investment. This vision is creating new opportunities for high-quality developments that align with global standards while preserving local identity and cultural values.

 We are also seeing a strong rise in international investor interest across the GCC, driven by regulatory reforms, improved infrastructure, and lifestyle-led developments. As the world becomes more interconnected, effectively a global village, the region is increasingly attracting residents and investors from diverse nationalities who choose to live and invest in harmony. This diversity is influencing how developments are designed, marketed, and sold, with greater emphasis on inclusivity, lifestyle quality, and long-term community building.

 As a result, digital engagement, transparency, and cross-border accessibility will continue to be key factors in how properties are positioned and sold, particularly in markets like Oman that are gaining visibility on the global investment map.”

The digital revolution is reshaping industries. To learn more, we asked Fathima Remziya, “How are data, AI, and emerging technologies influencing your sales strategy and performance optimization efforts?”

She explained, “Data and technology are transforming how we approach sales, enabling more precise forecasting, smarter decision-making, and deeper insights into buyer behavior. Leveraging AI and automation allows us to streamline lead management, reporting, and performance analysis, freeing our sales teams to focus on relationship-building and closing rather than data collection or analysis.

 Emerging AI technologies are making data evaluation faster, more cost-effective, and increasingly predictive. Looking ahead, we anticipate that advances in AI, machine learning, and other digital tools will not only optimize sales operations but also redefine how properties are marketed, priced, and matched to the right buyers. The real estate landscape will be shaped by tech-driven insights, enabling us to anticipate market trends, design more personalized client experiences, and unlock new avenues for growth.

 I see technology as a key enabler of a more dynamic, efficient, and customer-centric real estate market, where innovation and data-driven strategies will become central to long-term success.”

 In the long term, I aim to continue building a high-performing, agile sales team and implement strategies that leverage market intelligence, data insights, and tailored service to deliver measurable results.
