Dubai Police have enforced a ban on large trucks on Tripoli Street during peak morning and evening hours in an effort to improve traffic safety and protect the lives of drivers. This program is a component of a larger set of regulations created in partnership with the highways and Transport Authority to reduce traffic accidents, improve traffic flow, and ease congestion on important highways.
The restriction of heavy truck movement along Tripoli Street during morning and evening rush hours is one of several traffic measures designed to enhance road safety, safeguard the lives of motorists, and minimise severe accidents caused by the interaction between heavy and light vehicles,” said Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Operations.
He emphasised that one of the top priorities of Dubai Police’s traffic policy is protecting the lives of drivers. He also emphasised how many serious collisions are caused by drivers who make mistakes and wilfully disregard traffic laws, resulting in terrible events that regrettably take the lives of innocent people. Major General Said Al Mazrouei added that the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Dubai Police have implemented several key regulatory measures.
