According to Russian agencies, which cited Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised his UAE counterpart Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for assistance in apprehending a man suspected of shooting a Russian military intelligence officer.
According to Wam, Sheikh Mohamed and President Putin spoke over the phone Saturday night about regional and global concerns as well as ways to improve their bilateral collaboration.The individual was arrested in Dubai and turned over to Russia, according to the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
Russia claimed to have identified Korba, the guy alleged to have carried out the attack, as one of three suspects in the shooting. The Russian Investigation Committee stated that Korba came to Moscow “on assignment from Ukrainian intelligence services to commit a terrorist attack” in late December. According to reports, Kyiv has denied any involvement.
According to authorities, Lieutenant General Vladimir Alexeyev, the deputy chief of Russia’s military intelligence agency, the GRU, was shot multiple times in a Moscow apartment complex on Friday. According to Russian media, he had surgery following the incident.
