We recently had the opportunity to have a conversation with Rahul Duragkar, the founder and key driving force behind three successful ventures. As the Managing Director and CEO of Emitech Group, he drives a specialized venture for engineering, electromechanical works, and construction solutions. He also leads Aardys Properties as its CEO, a premium real estate brokerage firm focused on high-value properties and investment opportunities in Dubai.
Moreover, by launching Majlix, he offers a top-notch digital media platform covering Gulf and international developments. With more than three decades of entrepreneurial excellence, Rahul Durgakar’s journey is defined by strategic vision, operational excellence, and relentless efforts to offer the best quality across industries.
The Beginning
We started the interview by asking, “How did your professional journey begin, and what key moments shaped where you are currently?”
Rahul shared, “I started my professional journey almost 3 decades back, and started my entrepreneurship journey in 2011. The key moments are many, I would say. I like taking challenges that look beyond my capacity and trying to achieve them. I keep working on myself and my team and every moment is like a great learning experience.”

Interested to learn more about his services, we asked Rahul Durgakar, “Can you tell us more about your current role and the organization you lead or represent?”
“Currently, I serve as the Managing Director of Emitech Group, where we specialize in engineering, electromechanical works, and construction solutions. Over the years, I’ve expanded my role into leading multiple ventures. I also head Aardys Properties, a premium real estate brokerage firm focused on high-value properties and investment opportunities in Dubai. More recently, I launched Majlix, a digital media house, which operates a news agency and content platforms covering Gulf and international developments.
Across these organizations, my role is to provide strategic direction, build strong teams, and ensure that each business is not only financially successful but also innovative and impactful in its sector. Having spent more than 30 years in business—20 of those in Dubai—I bring a balance of technical expertise, entrepreneurial vision, and leadership to the organizations I represent,” he explained.

Navigating through Challenging Phases
Challenges are an inevitable part of every business journey. To learn how Rahul Durgakar overcame these phases, we asked, “What major challenges have you faced as a leader, and how have you overcome them?”
He explained, “One of the biggest challenges I have faced as a leader is managing growth across multiple industries at the same time. Each sector—construction, real estate, and media, comes with its own dynamics, market cycles, and competitive pressures. For example, in construction, project delays and cost escalations are constant risks; in real estate, building client trust in high-value transactions requires patience and credibility; and in media, the challenge is staying relevant in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
I overcame these challenges by building strong, specialized teams and empowering them with clear direction and accountability. I’ve also focused on innovation, whether it’s adopting sustainable technologies in construction, using data-driven insights in real estate, or creating digital-first content in media. Most importantly, I’ve learned to adapt quickly, turning setbacks into opportunities and maintaining resilience even in uncertain environments.
These experiences have not only strengthened my leadership but also taught me that long-term success is built on agility, trust, and continuous learning.”
Impact of the Digital Revolution
The digital transformation has been reshaping businesses across sectors. So, we asked, “How do you see technology — especially AI — influencing your sector?”
Rahul responded, “In both construction and real estate, I see technology, and especially AI, as a transformative force.
In construction, AI is already reshaping how we plan and deliver projects. From predictive project scheduling, risk assessment, and cost optimization to AI-powered design modeling, it helps reduce errors, improve efficiency, and ensure sustainable outcomes. At Emitech Group, we are exploring AI for energy efficiency simulations and predictive maintenance to make projects smarter and greener.
In real estate, AI is enhancing the client experience and investment decision-making process. It enables accurate property valuations, ROI predictions, and market trend analysis. At Aardys Properties, we see AI as a way to provide investors with deeper insights, tailored property recommendations, and even immersive experiences through virtual viewings.
Overall, I believe AI will not only make these sectors more efficient but also more transparent, sustainable, and client-focused—key aspects for long-term success.”
Envisioning the Future
We further asked Rahul Durgakar to share his perspective on where his industry is heading in the next few years.
“I believe both construction and real estate are entering a phase of smart, sustainable, and tech-driven growth. In construction, the future will be shaped by sustainability, modular construction, and AI-powered project management. Clients are demanding faster delivery with lower carbon footprints, and technology will play a central role in meeting those expectations.
In real estate, Dubai and the region are seeing strong investor confidence. The industry will move toward more data-driven decision-making, sustainable communities, and integrated living spaces that combine lifestyle, technology, and investment value.
Overall, I see both sectors becoming more transparent, sustainable, and customer-centric—with technology and innovation as the drivers,” he reflected.

Lastly, addressing the aspiring professionals in the real estate and construction industry, we asked Rahul Durgakar, “What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs or professionals aiming to create impact?”
