Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) marked 2025 as a year of record engagement, delivering expanded support to both patients and the wider community. During the year, the organisation provided financial assistance to more than 500 people undergoing cancer treatment, allocating over Dhs10.4 million to cover medical and related care needs.

One of the year’s key highlights was FOCP’s flagship Pink Caravan initiative, which recorded its highest-ever number of free breast cancer screenings. During Pink October, 19,791 screenings were conducted across the UAE, strengthening early detection efforts nationwide. In parallel, FOCP organised 36 events and activities focused on emotional and moral support, benefiting more than 2,000 patients and caregivers.

In partnership with the American Cancer Society, FOCP also hosted the fourth Middle East edition of the 24-hour walkathon Relay for Life 2025. Held on January 25 and 26 at the American University of Sharjah under the theme Worth Living, the event brought together more than 3,500 participants, including cancer survivors, caregivers and community members, to raise awareness and funds for cancer care. Throughout October, FOCP further supported awareness efforts by operating eight fixed clinics and more than 100 mobile clinics across the country, ensuring wider access to screening services.
