Phase I of the Hessa Street Development Project, which spans 4.5 km from Al Khail Road to Sheikh Zayed Road, was inaugurated on Sunday by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). In order to increase capacity to four lanes in each direction, Hessa Street was widened and bridges were built at the intersections of Al Asayel Street, First Al Khail Street, and Sheikh Zayed Road. For cars heading from Al Khail Road to Hessa Street and then to Sheikh Zayed Road, this opening improves traffic flow.

90% of the project has been completed overall; the remaining tasks, which include road construction, bridge construction, intersection upgrades, and cycling tracks, are expected to be finished in the second quarter of this year.

The Hessa Street Development Project, with a total cost of about Dhs690 million, is being carried out in accordance with the wise leadership’s directives to continue developing the road infrastructure network, keep up with Dubai’s sustained growth, and meet the requirements of urban expansion and population growth, according to Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

It is a significant road infrastructure development project that serves a number of residential and development areas, such as Jumeirah Village Circle, Al Sufouh 2, and the Al Barsha residential area.
