According to projections, the food and beverage market in the United Arab Emirates is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 6.8%, reaching around $44 billion by 2029. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy & Tourism, established the UAE Food Cluster last year, and it has been essential in bringing stakeholders together and initiating projects that improve local production, fortify trade alliances, and—above all—lessen dependency on imports.

Three major factors are influencing the food industry in the United Arab Emirates, according to Saleh Lootah, Chairman of the UAE Food & Beverage Business Group and UAE Food Cluster. First, the method we produce and distribute food is changing due to innovation in all areas. These developments, which range from supply chains driven by AI to vertical farming, are only making the industry more resilient and efficient. Second, investments in climate-smart agriculture and renewable energy are opening the door to a more environmentally friendly future, as sustainability remains at the core of all we do.

The UAE Food Cluster has been chosen to be the change agent, not merely a facilitator. It’s about forging a shared vision for the UAE’s food industry’s future, encouraging cooperation, and ensuring that all parties involved contribute to and maintain accountability for the development of a robust and sustainable environment.
