Up to 45 Hyderabadi Umrah pilgrims perished when their bus caught fire after colliding with an oil tanker close to Madinah, Saudi Arabia. According to information obtained, one pilgrim, Mohammed Abdul Shoaib, survived and was receiving treatment at a hospital, Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar told reporters.

He stated that 54 pilgrims from Hyderabad had departed for Jeddah on November 9 and were expected to return on November 23. On Sunday night, the pilgrims departed for Madinah following their “Umrah” (mini-pilgrimage) in the Holy City of Makkah. The bus collided with an oil tanker and caught fire around 25 kilometers from Madinah.’

Four pilgrims remained in Makkah, while four others drove off to Medinah. There were forty-six pilgrims on the vehicle, he claimed. Ten children, seventeen men, and eighteen women are among the victims. The majority of the pilgrims came from Hyderabad’s Asif Nagar, Jhirra, Mehdipatnam, and Toli Chowki neighborhoods.

According to information obtained, 47–48 persons perished in the tragedy, according to Minister for Minority Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin. According to him, Hajj House now has a control room where victims’ families may receive information.

According to the minister, the government would arrange for at least one member of each deceased person’s family to attend. If people wish to travel but do not have passports, the government will provide for them.
