In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Zayed Charity Run wrapped up its second stop of the 2025–2026 season on Sunday. More than 3,000 runners from all over the world, including more than 200 from the United Arab Emirates, participated in the event, which was marked by a lively celebration of the generosity, solidarity, and compassion that this international endeavor embodies.

UAE runners took home five of the twelve medals that were given out in all categories during its inaugural South American competition, including one gold, two silver, and two bronze. Brazilian runners took home seven medals. In the presence of prominent Rio de Janeiro local officials and Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Run, the winners were presented with awards by UAE Ambassador to Brazil Sharif Essa AlSuwaidi.

The Run, which is based on the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, who left behind a legacy of kindness, camaraderie, and human connection, was reaffirmed as one of the world’s premier humanitarian sporting events in Rio.

The Run’s goal of turning sport into a platform for hope and humanitarian impact is reflected in the proceeds from this edition, which will be donated to Rio Solidario, a prominent non-profit organization in Brazil that supports women, families, and vulnerable children.
