Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed quick traffic improvements on Sheikh Zayed Road to optimise the emirate’s road network, improve traffic efficiency, alleviate congestion at critical intersections, and increase road capacity.
The goal is to improve traffic flow while maintaining high road safety standards. These enhancements are part of the RTA’s continued efforts to adopt innovative traffic solutions on Dubai’s main highways, keeping up with the city’s urban growth and expansion.
The project included expanding and improving key locations along Sheikh Zayed Road, a vital economic corridor flanked by residential areas and major economic and commercial landmarks such as the Dubai International Financial Centre, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, multinational corporations, banks, investment firms, hotels, and entertainment facilities. As a vital route for business and daily transportation, it is an important arterial road in Dubai.
Ahmed Al Khzaimy, Director of Traffic at RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, remarked, “RTA is still committed to improving traffic flow throughout Dubai, notably on Sheikh Zayed Road. We hope to create a seamless and safe travel experience for all motorists and road users across the Emirates through creative modifications and traffic solutions.
