The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) has announced that the 16th Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF 2025) will be held from April 23 to May 4. Over the course of 12 days, the festival at Expo Centre Sharjah will feature a wide variety of the newest works for kids and teens in addition to an exciting schedule of interactive activities, artistic and dramatic performances, and instructive and entertaining events.

This year’s festival will include interactive workshops given by a distinguished group of professionals and specialists to foster and develop the abilities and talents of children and young adults and increase their knowledge and intelligence.

As part of an extensive cultural and artistic program to encourage interaction between readers and creators, the event will also feature children’s literature authors, illustrators, and publishers who will participate in discussion panels, readings, and book signings.

The winners of the current Sharjah Children’s Book Award, Sharjah Children’s Book Illustration Award, Sharjah Books for Visually Impaired Children Award, and Sharjah Audio Book Award—all distinguished honors created by SBA to promote the children’s literature sector will be revealed.

“Under the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and under the leadership of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the emirate remains committed to fostering a culture of knowledge and creativity among children,” said Ahmed Bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of SBA, in response to the announcement.
