The UAE has sent 700 tons of critical food supplies to the victims of floods that struck many districts in Somalia as part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to aid countries affected by natural disasters.

The assistance complies with the UAE’s leadership’s directions to support humanitarian efforts and lessen the suffering of the benevolent Somali people. In addition to providing immediate aid to areas affected by the floods, the shipments contained necessary food supplies to address the requirements of almost 150,000 members of the affected families.

Regarding this, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia Ahmed Juma Al Rumaithi confirmed that the assistance shows the UAE’s determination to support the fraternal Somali people in these trying times.

He went on to say, “The initiative highlights the UAE’s wise leadership’s commitment to offering various forms of aid and support to the affected communities, reflecting the close bilateral relations between the UAE and Somalia.” The UAE will keep collaborating with regional and global organizations to make sure that as many people in need as possible receive relief, which will lessen their suffering and hasten the healing process.

This humanitarian bridge demonstrates the UAE’s leadership in reacting to crises globally and its ongoing assistance to nations in times of calamity, which is consistent with its core principle of humanitarianism, which seeks to bring about stability and progress on a global scale.
