Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, led a record-breaking 278,000 runners in the Dubai Run, presented by Mai Dubai, a 23% increase from the previous year’s event. This was an inspiring demonstration of community spirit.
“Dubai Run is a testament to the power of community and the city’s residents’ determination to lead healthier and more active lives,” Sheikh Hamdan stated. The city’s spirit, its unwavering quest for perfection, and the community’s understanding of the value of sports and health are all reflected in today’s event.
We express our gratitude to everyone who participated in this challenge and helped make it a great success. By working together, we are creating a healthier, happier, and more cohesive society while also serving as a model for coming generations. Our dedication to improving the city’s quality of life and ensuring Dubai continues to be the most excellent place in the world to visit and live is reaffirmed by occasions like Dubai Run.
As runners of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels donned their event t-shirts for the largest fun run in the world, Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai were turned into a sea of green, and the excitement was evident. Together, they created a memorable celebration of community and fitness that was the ideal way to wrap up the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2024.
