China is considering enhancing its “very strong relations” with the UAE through cultural comprehension, as the “Year of the Fire Horse” is just 13 days away. That cultural comprehension would not only become more profound with the Emiratis, but also with the other expatriate residents of the seven emirates.

On Wednesday, Ou Boquian, the Chinese Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, made this statement at the China-UAE Centre for Cultural and Trade Exchange (China Pavilion) in Dubai Expo City.

The consular mission and the People’s Republic of China Embassy in Abu Dhabi announced activities related to the global celebration of the “Spring Festival 2026” from February 17 to March 3, which were organised in collaboration with the 250,000-strong Chinese Community throughout the country. The Chinese Community was primarily represented by the China Cultural Centre-UAE, Chinese General Chamber of Commerce-UAE, and China Media Group Middle East.

These events are coordinated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and supported by the Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai Police, and Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) under the “Warm Spring, Happy New Year” banner.
