The Xposure International Film Awards 2026 celebrated filmmakers from around the world whose work shows good storytelling and cinematic skills at a special awards ceremony on Monday. The most recent edition had 634 film applications from over 60 nations. This shows how the festival is becoming more worldwide and focusing more on cinema as an important visual medium.
The prizes were given out at the 10th Xposure International Photography Festival to honour the best work in Cinematic Arts, Visual Effects, Documentary Feature, and Short Film. This solidified film’s place as a key part of Xposure’s visual storytelling program.
Xposure recognises film as an important part of its larger visual culture platform through the film awards. It supports films that document reality and deal with social and cultural issues. Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), and Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of SGMB, gave out the awards.
Danish Farhan (UAE) won the Best Cinematic Arts Award for Bedouins of the Wind. Maxim Akbarov from Kazakhstan came in second for Steppe. The Best Visual Effects award went to Majid Farzolahi of Iran for Story of the Earth: Anarchy. The runner-up medal went to Mahdi Hadizadeh of Iran for Holy Death.
